Where PPTCompress does better
- It compresses the PowerPoint file itself. Upload a .pptx and get a smaller .pptx back. iLovePDF's tools for PowerPoint are PowerPoint to PDF and PDF to PowerPoint; its compressor, Compress PDF, accepts PDF files.
- Your deck stays editable. There is no detour through PDF, so text, layouts, animations, transitions and speaker notes are left exactly as they were.
- Old .ppt files stay .ppt. PowerPoint 97-2003 decks are compressed in their own format, without converting them to anything else.
- Larger free PowerPoint files. PPTCompress takes PowerPoint files up to 30 MB on the free plan. iLovePDF lists 15 MB as the free limit for PowerPoint to PDF.
- No ads. PPTCompress shows no advertising. iLovePDF lists an ad-free experience as a Premium feature.
- You see the result first. Before anything is written you get the estimated new size and can compare any picture before and after.
- More control over quality. Choose the resolution (DPI) and JPEG quality, or leave specific pictures untouched. iLovePDF's Compress PDF offers three levels: Extreme, Recommended and Less compression.

When iLovePDF may suit you better
If you want a PDF rather than a smaller deck, iLovePDF's PowerPoint to PDF does that, and it offers a much larger set of PDF tools (merge, split, OCR, sign and more) plus paid plans for very large files. PPTCompress focuses on making PowerPoint, PDF, Word and Excel files smaller.

Questions
Does iLovePDF compress PowerPoint files?
Not directly. Its PowerPoint tools convert PowerPoint to PDF and back, and its compressor works on PDF files. To make the .pptx itself smaller, use a PowerPoint compressor such as PPTCompress.
Is there an iLovePPT?
We could not find a product by that name; iloveppt.com is a parked domain. People searching for it usually want an iLovePDF-style tool for PowerPoint.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no sign up.
What happens to my files?
They are processed on our server and deleted within 60 minutes, along with the compressed copy. We do not look at them, keep them, or use them for anything else. Your original on your own computer is never changed; you download a new file.
How large a file can I upload?
Up to 30 MB free / 95 MB paid per file.
Will the file ever get bigger?
No. If the compressed result would not be smaller, you are told and you simply keep your original.
